Redmac Three Springs is pleased to announce that Craig Young has moved into the role of Service Manager, taking the next step in a career that began, quite literally, in the yard.
Starting From the Ground Up
Craig’s journey with Redmac started at ground level. He began as a yard hand before moving into an apprenticeship as a technician, learning the workshop floor from the wheels up. There were no shortcuts taken and no favours called in along the way — every skill Craig brings to his new role was earned through hands-on work, long days, and a genuine commitment and eagerness to understand how the business runs from the inside out.
A Well-Earned Step Up
Now, Craig is being fast tracked into the Service Manager role — a vote of confidence in what he’s shown so far and in where he’s capable of going. It’s an accelerated step up, and one that comes earlier in his career than the traditional path might allow, but it’s built on a solid base. Having worked as an apprentice technician himself, Craig already understands what goes into a repair and how a workshop operates day to day. That foundation gives him a real head start as he now learns the customer-facing and leadership side of the business — translating what machinery needs into plans customers can trust, while guiding the service team that keeps it all running.
Earned, Not Given
Craig is the son of Redmac proprietor Brett Young, but anyone who has worked alongside him will tell you his progression through the business has been anything but a given. He started where every technician starts and worked his way up on merit, putting in the time in overalls before ever stepping into a management role. That work ethic is exactly why this promotion carries real weight within the team.
Brett Young’s Vision
Craig’s progress is also a reflection of a bigger picture Brett Young has been building for years. Brett’s vision has always centred on developing experienced, capable people from within the business — investing in staff who understand the industry from the ground up, so customers are met with knowledge they can trust at every level. It’s about building a future the business, and its customers, can rely on for years to come.
The right support both inhouse and in the field. That’s the RedMac Difference!
Backed by Experience
Craig is the first to acknowledge that stepping into a Service Manager role is a new challenge, and one he still has plenty to learn. He won’t be figuring it out alone. Craig will be guided and mentored by Chris Mulder, who brings 35 years of experience in the service side of the industry, including time as both a Service Manager and Service Development Manager at another dealership. Chris’s depth of knowledge and background in developing service departments makes him an ideal mentor for Craig as he finds his feet in the role, giving customers confidence that Craig’s growth is backed by real experience and steady guidance.
The Future of RedMac
For Redmac Three Springs, Craig’s move into the Service Manager role is more than a staffing update — it’s a look at where the business is headed. With an intimate understanding of the workshop, and a clear stake in the company’s future, Craig represents the next generation of leadership at Redmac. His promotion reflects both his own hard-earned progress and the confidence the business has in the people who’ve grown up within it.
Congratulations to Craig Young on this well-deserved step forward. The team at Redmac Three Springs is looking forward to seeing Craig evolve as he takes on this new role.
