Gary Chivers is no stranger to the Case IH brand. Years ago he ran Case IH machinery before making the switch to green — but with the delivery of a brand new Case IH AF9 Combine, he’s made his way back to team RED.
Gary’s call to Chris our product specialist/territory salesman began out of curiosity, with no intention of buying at that stage. But once Chris started peeling back the layers of what the AF Series can actually do — the capacity, the reliability, and just how far the technology has advanced — the difference over what Gary was currently running spoke for itself. The AF Series is a genuine gamechanger in the harvester market, built on generations of the proven Axial-Flow platform and pushed further again with class-leading capacity, grain-handling efficiency and consistency across varying crop and paddock conditions. For Gary, it wasn’t just a new machine. It was a return to a brand he trusted, now better than he remembered it — and a dealership with the experience and knowledge to support his operation and back it all up.
But for Gary, the real value wasn’t just in the machine — it was in the service standing behind it.
“Gary had run Case IH many years ago before making the move to green, so he already had a sense of what he was looking for,” said Chris. “My job wasn’t to sell him on the AF Series — it was to understand where his operation was at now, what he needed the machine to do for him, and show him how far things have advanced since he last ran red, along with the support he’d have from me and the wider RedMac Three Springs team moving forward.
“Service and support was right at the top of his list, and that’s exactly what RedMac is building around. Between Brett Young’s vision for where the business is heading, the knowledge and experience of our dedicated team members, the backing Case IH provides our dealer network, and decades of combined knowledge across the team here, we were able to show Gary exactly what that support looks like in practice. Once he saw that, the decision made itself.
“That’s the value of having dedicated product specialists rather than just salespeople. I’ve worked in service for over 30 years across various brands, so when I’m talking to a customer like Gary, I’m not just reciting features — I’m talking about how the machine will actually perform for his operation, his conditions, his paddocks. He could ask me anything and know he was getting a straight answer, not a sales pitch.
“Nowadays, with all the technology and advancements in these machines, it’s so important that dealers genuinely know what they’re selling and can back that up with real knowledge of farming operations and the equipment they support. Too many dealerships lack salespeople who truly understand a customer’s operation from the ground up, let alone the capabilities of the machine they’re pitching — and support often falls away too, with machines dropped off and no real follow-up. You can hand over the best machine going, but if it isn’t set up and configured properly, and the customer hasn’t been shown how to get the most out of it, that great machine isn’t worth the price behind it.
“That’s the RedMac difference. It’s not just about handing over the machine — it’s the experience and knowledge of our team, being on site to run a customer through it properly, and staying contactable and on hand through harvest to make sure they’re getting the most out of their equipment. That relationship doesn’t stop once the paperwork is signed. That’s what gives a customer like Gary the confidence to make a big decision like this, and it’s what he’s really buying into.”
From first enquiry to delivery and into the paddock, it’s the team that understands your operation and the equipment they put in your field — from the workshop floor up.
We’re thrilled to have you on board, and we can’t wait to show you just how good the AF9 performs in your paddock.
Thank you for your trust and for choosing RedMac as your dealer of choice. Chris will be on site next week to run through the machine and ensure your transition is smooth from the very first pass, and he looks forward to supporting your operation through this harvest and for many years to come — backed by the wider Three Springs team, with the parts, service and advice of people who understand your operation and know how much is riding on the machinery come harvest time.
It’s an exciting time to be part of the RedMac team. Off the back of our recent combine training day with customers and the optimisation training our own staff completed alongside CNH Broadacre specialists, we’re ready to get these machines into the field and dialled in to our customers’ harvest conditions.
